SH Double-Suction Pump

As a significant type of centrifugal pump, the double-suction pump is widely utilized in engineering applications due to its characteristics of high head and large flow rate. The impeller of this pump configuration effectively consists of two impellers arranged back-to-back, with the water flowing from the impellers converging into a single volute casing. Double-suction pumps possess the following key features: they function as the equivalent of two single-suction impellers of identical diameter operating simultaneously, thereby doubling the flow rate for a given impeller outer diameter; the pump casing is horizontally split, facilitating convenient inspection and maintenance; furthermore, the inlet and outlet of the double-suction pump are aligned in the same direction—perpendicular to the pump shaft—which simplifies the layout and installation of the pump and its associated piping; finally, the impeller structure of the double-suction pump is symmetrical, resulting in a balance of axial forces and ensuring relatively stable operation.
